Convention Voting Instructions

Voting and Balloting

Hours of Voting

  • Voting will take place from 12:15PM to 4PM on February 5th.

Eligibility to vote

  • To be Eligible to vote, Registered Liberals must be registered to attend the convention and have a valid Registered Liberal status at the latest as of January 29th, 2022.

Ballots

  • The online voting will be done through the Simply Voting tool
  • To access the online ballot, the attendee will need to present on the virtual convention platform, where eligible voters will have access to a button that will open their ballot.
  • Each identified voter will have access to a webpage with their personalized ballot.
    • Please Note: Only one ballot will be registered per person. The ballot must be completed by the eligible voter, unless the voter requires assistance for accessibility reasons.
    • Only Registered Liberals residing in the ridings included in the Ontario Southwest region will be eligible to vote for the LPC(O) Southwest Regional Chair position.
    • Only members of the YLC(O) will be eligible for the YLC(O) Policy Chair position.
    • The voter will only see the ballot questions for whom they are eligible to vote.
  • When the Simply Voting page opens you will see a short message at the top of the page that indicates for which election you are voting and for how long the voting window will be open.
  • If you need to change the language of the ballot, you may do so by clicking the English or French buttons at the top of the page.
  • Scroll down the page to see the ballot question(s) for which you will be voting for
  • Make your selection for each position by clicking the white box to the left of your desired candidate’s name. You will know you have successfully selected a candidate if the box turns blue with a white check mark through it.
  • Once you have made all your selections, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the green Continue button. You will be taken to a confirmation page that displays your previous choices.
  • If you want to make any changes to your selections, you may do so by scrolling down the page, clicking the red Change button.
  • When you are ready to submit your ballot, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the green Confirm button.
  • Please note: no further changes can be made once you click the Confirm button.
  • The page will update and you will see a Success message at the top of the page, indicating that your vote has been recorded. You can see your voting receipt by scrolling down and clicking the blue View Receipt link, which will display your previous selections.
